The Local Government Insurance Trust encourages its local government members to take advantage of the loss control training programs. The training programs include, but are not limited to:
  • Courses certified by the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance for Public Officials
  • National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course (DDC)

  • Subsidization of the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course for Law Enforcement Officers at the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions (EVOC)

Member Services

Member Services provides outreach for LGIT members to a wide variety of services available through the Trust. We maintain regular communications with members and assist them by providing member contact to answer questions/inquiries regarding their insurance coverage offered by LGIT as well as loss control and other services that are available to members.
